倒數兩個月脫下軍帽就能重獲自由的廖宏斌，由於父親生意失敗的過往，歷經了軍校的歷練，畢業後服役四年役期即滿。
在內，面對軍中逐漸腐敗的官僚體系；對外，結束軍旅生涯投奔自我追隨的道路，讓廖宏斌躊躇不定。面對即將退休的母親，廖宏斌會選擇擔負家庭責任或是追隨自由的未來......
On two months countdown, Liao will be free from military training, after the failing of his father's business, experiencing the training of military school, after graduation, four years of military service is coming to an end.
Internally, he has to face the corrupt system in the military. Externally after finishing his military career, begins the journey of self-searching, this made him unsettled. Facing his mother is about to retire, will he pick up the responsibility of the family or chase after his freedom in the future.
創作動機
中華民國軍人在社會上的地位與尊重大不如前，被說成是米蟲，因為沒有打仗，要打也打不贏等等的話語，希望本片可以帶給中華民國軍人一個反思，真正落實為誰而戰，訓練要扎實，並且帶出軍人與家庭的關係，一位時常不在家的人與家庭相處的種種，並把整部片回歸到家庭，以反思整個軍中體系及國家、社會。
The respect and position of the soldiers of republic of China in the society is not as before, they are being called deadwood, words like because there's no war, or if there is, we will never win. Hoping this film will give the military a chance to reflect themselves, and truly embody the idea of who to fight for, and thorough training, and bring out the soldiers relationship with their family, a person that is not often home's interaction with the family and so on, and return the entire film back to the idea of family, to reflect on the whole military system, and the country and society.
作品特色
以軍人為題材，在學生畢製中少之又少。看似穩定的軍人職業和年輕人的迷惘掙扎激盪出火花進而引起反思，片中除了一窺軍營中的生活，家庭責任與自我追求的矛盾情緒更能引起廣泛年輕族群的共鳴。
To use military as the material, this is not often seen in student graduation productions. A military career that seems stable and the hesitation if the young, the dynamic this creates makes one think, in the film, besides peeking into the military life, and the dilemma between the responsibility of the family, and the search for one's self, these emotions can widely relate can create resonance in today's young people.
畢製回憶
比起趣事，更多的是暖心的事。這次拍攝過程中，意外的得到許多人自發性的協助還有鼓勵，像是有人自掏腰包送了兩大包暖暖包給站在寒風中工作的我們，也有很多人對我們說：年輕人不容易，加油。這些都讓我們在寒流來襲的拍攝欓期間得到莫大的溫暖。
