本來要死的阿昇，因為那通電話，而中斷了自殺行為。電話裡，是因為老公過世而不得不麻煩阿昇先來照顧自己女兒的妹妹安蘐。過去過度保護妹妹的阿昇和不喜歡被控制的安蘐，一次的爭吵，使得這次的相見已經相隔十多年。
當阿昇遇上外甥女榕容，發現了在榕容身上不同的特質，藉此也了解妹妹這些年來是如何活過來的，但老公的過世使得安蘐好像再次回到以前痛苦的日子......

Sheng is on the edge of killing himself until he receives a phone call. A call for help from his sister An-Hsuan, who needs help taking care of her daughter because of the sudden death of her husband. An overprotective brother and a sister haven’t seen each other since the brutal fight they had for more than ten years ago, until now.

Sheng finds something different from An-Hsuan on his niece Rong-Rong when he finally meets her. He then understands how An-Hsuan has been over the years, but the death of her husband seems to have put her back to the old painful days…

創作動機

當初看到劉素儀的原版劇本《BEEP》時，就被裡面的舅舅與外甥女兩個角色的世故與天真，由陌生到親密的關係深深吸引，因此決定進行改編。

故事中的三個主要角色，都曾經經歷或著即將要經歷一些人生的不順遂，甚至是創傷。成長的過程像是個永遠不滅的循環，好事、壞事都會發生，問題只在於我們如何去面對。每個決定都非常重要，因為除了自己，它們也會深深影響我們周遭的所有人。

When I first saw the original screenplay “BEEP ”written by Rachel Liew, I was fully attracted by the relationship between the sophisticated uncle and the  naive niece, so I decided to adapt the story.
The three main characters in the story have all been through or soon will get through tough times, or even traumas in their lives. Growing up is like an endless cycle, good things and bad things happen all the time, it’s just how we choose to deal with it. Every decision matters, because not only does the decision affect us, but also every other person around us.
